n balearic service boosts east midlands numbers British Midland’s scheduled service to the Balearic islands helped boost passenger numbers at East Midlands airport to a record high in July. Atotal of 266,684 holidaymakers flew from the airport, which is a 2.6% increase on the same month last year. In addition, British Midland saw 2,400 passengers fly to the Balearics from East Midlands in July, a 28% increase on the same month last year.
