Tobin accuses agents of ignoring camping market

AGENTS are still ignoring the camping market, with multiples too focused on selling in-house products, according to Keycamp managing director Simon Tobin.

He claimed customers undecided about their summer holiday are not offered camping as an alternative and are usually sold a mass-market package holiday. “The camping market is slowly growing yet the amount of business sold through the retail trade is going backwards,” said Tobin. “It’s a shame. It is a product made for the family market, a good revenue earner and attracts loyal customers.

“Although we have racking agreements with the multiples they are too intent in selling their own products.
