* additional British mediterranean services
British Mediterranean Airways’ winter 2000/1 schedule includes new routes to Luxor in Egypt and to Iran’s capital Tehran. The Luxor flight is a once-weekly extension to British Mediterranean’s Alexandria service, which offers two non-stop flights a week. Luxor services will depart London Heathrow on Sundays, with return flights on Mondays, to coincide with cruise ship sailings.
* airlines to use new airport in Alexandria
All airlines flying to and from Alexandria in Egypt will now land at Borg el Arab (HBE) airport, 28 miles west of Alexandria, instead of Nozha. Nozha will serve domestic flights only once its runwayrenovations are complete.
* transun launches short breaks to cairo
Transun has launched short breaks to Cairo and the pyramids, with departures from Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin. The new brochure features a range of one, two and three-night stays in a range of five-star hotels. Prices are from £219 per person for departures between December 27 and February 28.
* arabian odyssey adds new hotel options
Arabian Odyssey has added the Inter-Continental, Abu Dhabi which has a private beach and the five-star Al Hamra Fort Hotel and Beach Resort in Ros Al Khaiman.
