* new york promotion hits streets of london
New York’s Statue of Liberty and its famous city skyline will be portrayed on a London taxi cab as part of the Big Apple’s World Travel Market promotion week. Taxi ads will then operate on the streets of London through the winter period, displaying contact details of New York City’s UK tourism office in Carnaby Street.
* california rolls out famous film images
Images of California’s high-profile film industry is the main theme of the Golden State’s new stand at World Travel Market. It will be the base for 32 Californian firms. State wine-tasting receptions are being held there on the afternoons of November 13-14.
* palm springs renames tourist board
California’s Palm Springs Tourism has been renamed Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism following the appointment of Linda Fort as vice-president and general manager. New product includes several boutique hotels, the Orbit In, sited in the historic district and the improved Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
* texas evening event promises wild times
Texas Tourism, Continental Airlines and Travel Weekly are holding their Wild West Evening again at the Texas Embassy Cantina off Trafalgar Square on November 15, starting at 7pm. Invited guests will be treated to live music, line dancing, Tex-Mex food and a Texas stetson.
