Report by Lisa James
GOING Places’ new managing director David Harris is to meet
staff face to face in a bid to rebuild morale among his demoralised workforce.
He will spend the next month touring the country and
visiting several Going Places, Travelworld and Holiday World shops asking staff
to discuss their frustrations directly with him.
Harris faces a tough job _ an “unfair” performance-related
pay scheme, redundancies, cost-cutting measures and the absence of any strong
leadership since former MD Terry Fisher went on sick leave months ago have all
taken their toll on the 5,000 branch staff.
