Priceline postpones promotion following attacks

PRICELINE.CO.UK
has postponed a one-day promotional campaign it had planned following the USA
terrorist attacks.

The
web-based travel company had planned to sell 30,000 special editions of the
Independent newspaper on September 18 from Priceline liveried kiosks at
Liverpool Street, Victoria, Paddington and Gatwick Airport railway stations in
London. Customers were going to be allowed pay what they wanted for the
newspapers instead of the usual cover price.

Priceline,
which has a large American operation, felt it was inappropriate to hold the
event and will reschedule it.
