Travel agents have called on British Airways’ new
chief executive Willie Walsh to be sincere with agents and listen
to their gripes.
The carrier this week announced the former Aer Lingus boss will
become chief executive designate on May 3 and replace existing
chief executive Rod Eddington when he leaves in September.
Agents gave a mixed reaction to the news. Scottish Passenger
Agents’ Association vice-president Sandy MacPherson urged
BA’s new boss to “sit down with an open page and listen
to our issues”.
Advantage director of business travel Norman Gage said he wanted
Walsh to “be sincere” with agents.
Edwin Doran Travel World owner Edwin Doran hopes Walsh will
spearhead more “innovation” in customer service, and
value for money for clients.
