VIRGIN Holidays has launched two new destinations and introduced Mauritius packages based on Virgin Atlantic flights as part of its ‘big and friendly’ 2007 worldwide brochure.
Virgin saw an 80% increase in passenger numbers this year and hopes to further boost bookings to destinations such as Dubai, Mauritius and the Far East as it broadens its portfolio away from its traditional focus on Florida and the Caribbean.
Phi Phi Island in Thailand and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East are both new for 2007.
Following sister company Virgin Atlantic’s launch of twice weekly flights to Mauritius from Gatwick from November 2007, the operator is offering 13 hotels in the destination, with Hilton Mauritius featuring for the first time.
Worldwide product manager James Gamble said the new flights will double bookings to Dubai and 400% increase to Mauritius for the operator.
Gamble said: “Before our holidays have tended to centre on Caribbean and Florida – we’re now expanding into new destinations and can offer customers more choice.”
