UNITED Airlines has joined forces with the Guild of Travel Management Companies to offer training opportunities.
The airline has signed up to sponsor the GTMC’s supervisory management course and in doing so has become an associate member of the Guild – meaning it will be able to communicate directly with members and head office staff as well as having links on its website.
The course, which starts in December, is for staff in supervisory roles who wish to complete the Supervisory Certificate in Business Travel.
The course is a self-study programme with a half-day induction, two further training days and a one-day revision course. Students then sit a formal examination in June 2007.
GTMC managing director John Williams said: “The GTMC training courses are a very important part of what the Guild offers and it was really important that we got the right sponsor.
“The GTMC has reduced the number of months it takes students to complete the supervisory course from nine to six without reducing any of the content.
“This move followed the results of a survey which highlighted a desire for courses to be condensed.”
