Traveleyes founder Amar Latif is to present a new series of Channel 4’s How to Get Fit Fast following a successful pilot last year.
The show features cutting-edge science and stunts and aims to bust the exercise myths.
Latif, who has been blind since the age of 18, set up the world’s first commercial tour operator to offer independent group travel for blind, visually impaired and sighted travelers in 2004.
He said: “With Traveleyes, I lead trips all over the world, taking groups of blind and sighted travellers skiing, hiking and cycling, so I’ve got to keep fit! Exercise is very important to me, as it is with so many of us. But when you’re blind, it offers so much more. It’s a great confidence booster, and it just makes you feel great.”
Traveleyes runs more than 60 trips a year worldwide and in each group trip half the holidaymakers are blind or visually impaired. The fully sighted clients describe the destinations, views and trips, and in return, the cost of the trip is subsidised by 50% by Traveleyes, which is a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
