Thomas Cook rep dies of suspected heart attack

A Thomas Cook holiday rep is believed to have died from a heart attack on the Greek island of Kos.

Ashleigh Deveney, from Paisley in Scotland, worked for a Thomas Cook kids’ club.

Friends rushed the 27 year old to a doctor when she became ill but she died later.

Her mother Maryann told the Daily Record newspaper: “I cannot begin to explain how deeply distressing this is for our family or how we will even begin to come to terms with the loss of our beautiful daughter.

“Ashleigh was a bright, fun-loving girl who was deeply loved by her family, friends, colleagues and Thomas Cook customers.

“She adored working with children, loved her life overseas and made many friends.

“It gives us some comfort and makes us proud to read all the heartfelt messages we have received and to know Ashleigh was so happy in her life at the time of her sudden death.

“We cannot thank everyone enough for their support.”

The funeral will take place in her home town next Tuesday (August 13).

Thomas Cook director Jackie Stevenson said: “Ashleigh will be sorely missed by all of us.”
