ITC prepares autumn launch for new stand-alone programme

UPMARKET operator International Travel Connection is to launch its first stand-alone Australia and New Zealand programme in mid-October under its new name Classic Connection.

ITC special projects manager Judie Davies said: “The brochure will run between 112-120 pages with the emphasis on luxury properties and self-drive or chauffeur-driven tailor-made tours.

“We decided to launch an Australasia programme as many of our clients were asking if we could arrange holidays there.

“Although there is a lot of tour operators which offer stand-alone Australia brochures, they are very middle market, featuring three or four-star properties. Our upmarket competitors, such as Abercrombie and Kent just feature a couple of pages on the destination. We will feature luxury properties in every state.”

Prices will be around £5,000 for a 16-night tour including luxury accommodation and flights for two people.

ITC will also be brochuring a wide variety of sporting tours to include events such as the Melbourne Cup and Grand Prix, as well as stopovers en route in Asia, the US and South Pacific, using scheduled airlines including British Airways, Qantas, Thai Airways and Air New Zealand.

Sample product includes a three night/four-day itinerary on the Murray River with tours of the wineries and accommodation in the 18-suite five-star Cape Lodge; and a Blue Mountain and Hunter Valley tour staying in the five-star Lilianfelf property with the option of self-drive, chauffeur or helicopter transfer.
