Gulf Air to offer one-stop UK-Singapore connections

Gulf Air is to compete on UK-Singapore routes by starting connections via Bahrain with fares that undercut established non-stop carriers.

Links will be offered from Heathrow and Manchester onto Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to the Asian destination from October 27.

The carrier claims to be offering “great value” with economy return fares from London starting at £541 and £2,028 in business class as well as £556 in economy and £2,033 in business from Manchester.

However, the journey involves a stop-over of almost five hours outbound from London and almost four hours from Manchester.

Flights from Heathrow depart at 9.30am, arriving into Singapore at 12.30pm the following day.

Departures from Manchester are at 10.25am, operating five times a week between Wednesday and Sunday, also arriving in Singapore at 12.30pm the following day.

Gulf Air flights depart Singapore daily at 8.25pm, arriving separately into both Heathrow and Manchester at 6.35am the following morning.

The daily Singapore flights strengthen Gulf Air’s connectivity in Asia, adding to existing services to Manila and Bangkok.

Sales director Joanna Patterson said: “UK travellers now have a great-value, easy option for accessing Singapore, via our Bahrain hub.

“This new daily route expands our commitment to the southeast Asian market and is a key step in our global network expansion strategy.

“Singapore is a vibrant hub for business and tourism, and we’re thrilled to offer UK travellers greater access to this renowned destination.”
