Internet start-up company 21st Century Travel has recruited Lorraine Twohill from the Irish Tourist Board as its head of marketing.
Reporting to chief executive Lawrence Hunt, Twohill will be responsible for the company’s consumer marketing strategy across Europe. She was previously in charge of the Irish Tourist Board’s world Internet and e-commerce strategy.
The company plans to launch its on-line product in the second quarter and will roll it out across mainland Europe, initially focusing on Germany and Scandinavia. France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain will follow.
21st Century is a joint venture between Rapid Travel Solutions, designer of Going Places’ Matchmaker system and Ticket Travel Group, a Scandinavian retail travel agency group.
