The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has unveiled a new website and launched its first app.
The website – caa.co.uk – now delivers “enhanced, more accessible information” while a new app-led alerting service provides more targeted information to subscribers.
The website is optimised for mobile devices and a lot of the existing content has been re-written and updated.
Other changes include the introduction of blogs to encourage discussion on key aviation topics and news and social media tailored to the web information being viewed.
The new stakeholder alerting system app – Skywise – offers targeted alerts on news and information from the organisation directly through the app, email or website.
Users can choose how they receive alerts and select the categories they are interested in.
Each alert will be a summary, allowing readers to access more detailed information if required.
This system is designed to ensure people only receive the information they have requested and relevant.
By spring 2016 the CAA’s existing information and safety notice system will be phased out with Skywise replacing it.
As such the CAA is encouraging existing users to register with the new app “to ensure they continue to receive information”.
