Pastures new: the deal enables flights and hotels to be reserved
World Choice Travel in tie-up with TelMe.com
One of the largest on-line hotel reservation companies in the US, WorldChoiceTravel.com, is attempting to break into the European market by forming an alliance with UK-based on-line service provider TelMe.com.The two companies have created World Choices Global, which will allow WorldChoiceTravel.com’s European Internet affiliates – mostly business-to-consumer Web sites – to make both hotel and airline reservations.
TelMe.com will provide them with branded airline Internet engines, ticketing fulfilment and customer service support through its in-house travel agency, Seaforths. WorldChoiceTravel.com will provide them with access to hotel accommodation worldwide through the Pegasus reservations system.
World Choice Travel chief executive officer Greg McIntosh said: “By combining our hotel-booking Internet engine, which provides instant access to more than 32,000 hotels in 170 countries, with the TelMe.com airline engine, we can now offer a suite of services targeted to travellers using the Internet on two continents.”
The service will be offered to Web sites aiming to provide a travel-booking facility without setting up a travel agency.
“World Choices Global will mean our affiliates can add new revenue to their bottom line while retaining their ownInternet identity,” added McIntosh.
