EasyJet adds new independent director to board

A former European boss of multinational brewing firm SABMiller is joining the board of easyJet.

Sue Clark will join the UK budget carrier on March 1 as a senior independent director.

She is currently an independent director at tobacco company Imperial brands and a non-executive director at packaging and paper group Mondi and soft drinks firm Britvic.

The airline said Clark will bring “strong strategic and commercial experience”, having been a member of the executive management team at SABMiller from 2003, serving as corporate affairs director until 2012 and then managing director, Europe until the business was acquired in 2016.

She previously served as director of corporate affairs for Railtrack and Scottish Power.

Clark will be a member of easyJet’s audit, nominations and safety committees.

The airline’s chair Stephen Hester said: “I am very pleased to welcome Sue to easyJet.

“Her strong strategic and commercial background, along with her experience of operating in large, international companies in both executive and non-executive roles, will be valuable as we focus on driving long-term shareholder value.”
