Finnair is revamping its regional jet fleet which connect Helsinki with Dublin, Edinburgh and Manchester.
The overhaul of the 12 short-haul Embraer aircraft, which also serve domestic routes to destinations such as Rovaniemi, is set to take a year from early 2024.
The E190s, operated for Finnair by Nordic Regional Airlines, will maintain capacity for 100 passengers in a new configuration.
Passengers will see changes to the cabin design with new seats and other improvements from late next year.
Chief commercial officer Ole Orvér said: “We want to improve travel comfort and provide our customers with a high-quality travel experience across our route network.
“We will bring similar elements and feeling to our Embraer fleet as we have used in our previously redesigned Airbus wide-body aircraft.”
The investment follows a €200 million long-haul renewal, including a new business class, premium economy cabin, and refreshed economy class.
