Jet2 has selected an advanced engine type to power up to 71 new generation Airbus aircraft as part of its most recent fleet order.
The deal with manufacturer CFM International covers Leap engines for A320neo and A321neo family aircraft due for delivery from 2028.
The budget airline and tour operating group now has engine orders for 98 new aircraft and 48 options.
The first Leap-powered aircraft entered into service with Jet2 last month.
Jet2 executive chairman Philip Meeson said: “The introduction of the fuel efficient Leap engine in our fleet, combined with our major investment in UK SAF production facilities, will help make our operations more sustainable and provide the best customer experience.”
CFM International chief executive Gael Meheust added: “We share with Jet2 the same ambition to invest in technologies which will make air transport even more sustainable in the coming years.”
Jet2 has been a CFM customer since 2002 and the announcement extends the relationship between the two companies.
