An NHS nurse from the UK has become a US dollar millionaire after winning first prize in Qatar Airways’ ‘Fly and Win’ campaign.
The campaign was launched last November for members of the airline’s loyalty programme, with entry into a prize raffle based on enrolling on the programme and taking a flight between November 1 and January 31.
Francis Capis, an NHS nurse from Crawley who originally comes from the Philippines, won the top prize of being made a USD millionaire overnight.
He said: “I just about remembered applying for the ‘Fly and Win’ draw, I knew at that time that I would be so lucky if the stars aligned.
“The sky really is the limit now, this will change my life, and that of my family’s, for ever.”
Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: ““On behalf of Qatar Airways, I would like to extend my personal congratulations to our campaign winners.
“There will be more exciting rewards offered by Qatar Airways in future, and we welcome any new joiners to our Privilege Club to take part and be in with a chance to win.”
