G Adventures unveils eight new tours in National Geographic partnership

G Adventures has unveiled eight new tours as part of its partnership with National Geographic Expeditions.

The additions mean there are now a total of 89 trips in the ‘National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures’ collection.

The new trips in the ‘National Geographic Journeys’ category are in Scotland, Turkey and Wyoming, as well as Peru and Bolivia, while the four new itineraries in the ‘National Geographic Family Journeys’ section are in Belize, Greece, Ireland and the southwest of the US.

G Adventures president Ben Perlo said: “All these fascinating new trips focus on hands-on exploration, photography, history, culture, nature and wildlife, so they truly bring learning and adventure together with some of the world’s most incredible settings as a backdrop.”

The new trips, which can be booked now for departures from April 2024, include exclusive experiences through G Adventures, the tour operator said.

Among these are a guided walk in Pitlochry and a meeting with an author in Troy to discuss the Trojan War.

Activities in the family collection include kayaking through Antelope Canyon in Arizona, Greek family games in Athens, learning how to make tortillas in Belize, and embarking on a treasure hunt mystery adventure in Dublin.

Perlo said: “National Geographic is a powerful household name, and G Adventures is the leader in small group trips and [a] pioneer of community tourism.

“Together we have created a uniquely attractive holiday option for immersive exploration that really gets into the heart of local communities in the destinations we travel to.

“I’m especially thrilled to see our family collection growing, as more families look to spend time together sharing real-world experiences.”

Guests booking the Iconic Wildlife of Yellowstone & Grand Teton tour, setting off from Jackson, will come across waterfalls and geysers, while keeping an eye out for wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, moose and bald eagles.

Prices for the tour, which has departures from June, start at £3,349 per person.

In the ‘National Geographic Family Journeys’ collection, the Greece Family Journey: Stories of the Past tour offers a nine-day trip featuring interactive visits to the Acropolis, the Pantheon museum and the Agora of Athens.

Activities include ancient games and treasure hunts, as well as swimming, snorkelling and exploring villages.
