A homeworker has been awarded a ticket to the prestigious Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards after achieving one of the highest sales performances in December.
Paula Coull, who works for The Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel, was one of seven agents entered into a prize draw to win the ticket. All seven agents had generated more than £50,000 in sales revenue in December.
The ticket to this month’s awards was given as an incentive to motivate homeworkers during a particularly tricky sales period when strict travel testing rules were still in force and the nation was preparing for another lockdown.
It will be the first time Coull has attended the awards, which take place on March 15 at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.
Coull, who has been with Blue Bay Travel for six years, been a homeworker for 18 years, and in travel for 40 years, said: “I’m truly delighted! I consider myself a real grafter, but I’ve never been too lucky when it comes to winning anything. In fact, I’d go so far as to say I couldn’t even win an argument, so this really means a lot to me.”
She added: “I’ll be proud to go and represent the Personal Travel Consultants at the Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards.”
The winner of the Globe ticket was announced at a group meeting to the whole business to discuss goals and third-party incentives.
Abbie Heaton, sales manager for The Personal Travel Consultants, said: “Whilst bookings are now coming in thick and fast, December was a really challenging trading period.
“We therefore felt creating an incentive scheme would really help motivate our homeworkers, especially with the reward being a prestigious place at the Globe awards. I’m so pleased to see Paula win the spot – she really deserves to have all her hard work properly celebrated.”
