PwC experts to offer inflation insights at Travel Convention

Two economic experts from PwC will speak at The Travel Convention to help delegates understand the implications of the economic outlook in the UK for the travel sector.

Rick Jones, partner – corporate finance and head of travel and leisure, and Eleanor Scott, partner at Strategy&, which is part of the PwC network, will be at the Abta event in Bodrum, Turkey, to provide an update on the outlook for the UK economy and household finances.

They will be able to talk about the impact that continued high levels of inflation may have for consumer spending, and the implications this could have on the outlook for travel.

The two also spoke about the cost-of-living crisis during a session at last year’s Convention, which was held in Morocco.

The event organisers have also highlighted that the discounted ‘early bird’ registration fees for this year’s Travel Convention will end on July 17.

Furthermore, in partnership with the convention’s lead partner, easyJet holidays, delegates can book easyJet flights to and from Bodrum for a lower price of £149.99 each way during the ‘early bird’ period.

The discounted easyJet airfares will increase from July 18.

The convention will have the theme of ‘Unleashing New Potential’ to reflect the latest developments in artificial intelligence and the ways that consumers will book holidays in the future.

Best-selling author and journalist Oliver Burkeman was announced last month as one of the other speakers lined up for the Travel Convention, which takes place at the Lujo Hotel from October 30 to November 1.

Headline partners for this year’s convention are Avis Budget Group, Global, Intrepid Travel, Royal Caribbean International and Universal Partners, while Travel Weekly will once again be trade media partner.
