AmaWaterways urges agents to capitalise on Olympics interest in France

Agents are being incentivised by AmaWaterways to capitalise on an anticipated surge in French river cruise bookings during the Olympic Games.

Those making a booking for any French itinerary during the Olympics and Paralympics between July 26 and September 8 will be entered into a draw to win a European cruise for two people.

The agent taking silver will win a case of French wine, while the person in bronze position will receive a £50 love2Shop voucher.

Additionally, the travel agency making the most French river cruise bookings over the period will receive a celebratory evening out, up to a value of £250.

Winners will be announced via the line’s trade Facebook page on September 13.

Dedicated training sessions by AmaWaterways’ business development managers are planned together with a France themed webinar on July 25.

Sales director Andrea Stafford said: “Over the coming weeks the eyes of the world will be on France.

“Every day, millions of people will be watching live streams from around the country, and this will undoubtedly bring the destination to the forefront of their minds.

“It’s not just Paris that will be hosting events, Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon are all operating as Olympic venues and will be in the spotlight too.

“The agent community has a great opportunity to capitalise on France’s high profile and not only earn themselves commission but win prizes too.”

AmaWaterways operates seven French itineraries across five ships.

“In my view, clients are wanting a more in-depth river cruising experience at a slower pace and a complete cultural immersion in a specific region,” Stafford added.

“With timeless vineyards and iconic chateaux as well as beautiful countryside and fascinating towns and cities, France offers a multitude of fascinating river cruise experiences. Strong rail connections also make it a great option for guests looking for a flight-free holiday.”
