Explore Worldwide is recruiting a “social media storyteller” to join its team in what it has dubbed the “second best job in the world”.
Inspired by Tourism Queensland’s ‘Best Job in the World’ campaign launched in 2009, which gave consumers the chance to land a dream role, Explore Worldwide said it is seeking a “mastermind” to fill the “second best job in the world” and create content about “far-flung holidays, animal encounters and delicious cuisines in 100 countries globally”.
The chosen applicant will lead a team of global influencers and create content that has “real impact” in line with Explore’s sustainability strategy and marketing guidelines, the operator said.

They will also have the opportunity to take a free Explore trip within their first six months.
Laura Dewar, senior PR and content manager, said: “We’re so excited to begin this search and to find an enthusiastic, creative mastermind to join our small but dynamic content team and really drive our social media strategy forwards.
“The lucky social media storyteller candidate will spend their days creating visually compelling content to entice global travellers onto these epic once-in-a-lifetime holidays.
“Being sensitive to how other nationalities digest and appreciate content is important, with an ability to adapt content for different purposes.
“Our content plan is global and a sensitivity to nuances in language, culture and humour is critical.”
