Loveholidays has started selling in Austria via the weloveholidays brand after a month of product testing and refinement.
The move follows the OTA’s expansion into Ireland in 2016 and Germany last year.
Austrian holidaymakers can now access package holiday combinations and local customer service support provided by staff based in Dusseldorf.
The company reinforced its growth plans by recruiting Charlotte Gogstad from Expedia in the newly-created role of vice president of international expansion.
She moves after 17 years at Expedia Group including as vice president of product and technology enablement.
Gogstad was was instrumental in expanding Hotels.com’s market share in the Nordics and shaping Expedia’s international growth strategy, including launching the brand into eight new markets, before taking on responsibility for scaling global platform processes.
Loveholidays chief executive Donat Retif said: “With strong cultural and linguistic ties to Germany, as well as rising demand for dynamic packaging, Austria was the natural next step in our European expansion.
“I’m delighted to welcome Charlotte to the team to oversee our launch in the market and spearhead further market expansion, as we go after our ambition of becoming Europe’s number-one package holiday provider.”
Gogstad added: “Loveholidays has a unique proposition that empowers consumers to find the perfect package holiday for their needs.
“I’m excited to join the business and support it to ramp up its international expansion efforts, starting with our launch in Austria, which is perfectly timed ahead of what we anticipate will be a busy peak travel season.”
Weloveholidays cemented its commitment to the German market earlier this year by signing a two year partnership with Bundesliga champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen Football Club.
