COBBLER’S Cove hotel on Barbados is to close for its traditional summer refit earlier than usual this year to undertake extensive renovations.
The 40-suite Relais and Chateau property will close on July 10 and reopen on October 10 in time for the start of the winter season.
The property is spending $100,000 refurbishing its lounge, main bar and outdoor terrace area used for afternoon tea, weddings and cocktail parties.
A fitness centre is being added adjacent to the hotel’s tennis court with a boutique next door.
As part of the hotel’s rolling renovation programme, 10 suites will this year be completely refurbished.
Cobbler’s Cove general manager Hamish Watson said: “We took our guests’ opinionsinto account in formulating this majorrefurbishment.
“It is obviously important that a prestigious property like Cobbler’s is sensitive to client needs and does all it can to maintain and enhance its international reputation.”
