DER Travel Service is putting together a series of packages to encourage people to watch the August 11 solar eclipse in Germany.
Business development manager Babette Braun said: “For most people, witnessing a total eclipse of the sun is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“The path of the eclipse starts in Cornwall and goes across Europe through France, Germany and Austria.
“In Stuttgart and Augsburg, the eclipse lasts 2mins 30secs; in Munich, it is 2mins.”
Prices start at £459 for an escorted tour to Stuttgart, which includes three nights in a five-star hotel, flights, transfers, a lecture on the event, and a boat trip on the River Neckar with dinner.
An alternative independent package to Munich costs £319, including flights and three nights in three-star accommodation, or three nights in Augsburg in three-star accommodation for £333, includingflights.
DER is also promoting packages to this autumn’s Munich beer festival and next year’s famous Oberammergau Passion Play in Bavaria.
Customer relations manager Liz Tjostolvsen and business development manager Babette Braun will be at the DERstand at this year’s Germany Travel Show.
