G Adventures to launch five yachts for Greek sailings

G Adventures will introduce a purpose-built fleet of five yachts which will offer Greek island sailings from next summer.

Each sailing is led by a qualified G Adventures ‘skipper CEO’ (chief experience officer) and shoreside excursions will ensure travellers interact with local people and support communities that may not usually see a lot of tourists.

At nearly 57 feet long, each boat can carry 10 travellers in five cabins that can be configured to be either twin or double.

The vessels also feature a sun deck and a communal area designed to build connections with fellow travellers.

Vince Donnelly, director of global sailing at G Adventures, said: “All five boats have been fitted with solar panels and state-of-the-art engines and generators that minimise environmental impact without sacrificing performance.

“Recycled and natural materials have been prioritised in the boats’ construction, ensuring all materials used are free from harmful substances.

“This commitment to the environment and spreading tourism dollars to lesser-visited communities on smaller Greek islands really sets the bar high for operators in the region, and ensures we’ll deliver an incredible experience for our travellers that is simultaneously kind to our planet and its people.”

Trips featuring the new boats include Sailing Greece – Santorini to Mykonos, from £1,229 for an eight-day sailing and Sailing Greece – Santorini to Athens, from £2,379 for a 15-day trip.

Prices do not include international flights.

G Adventures’ Sailing travel style also includes trips in the Canary Islands, Croatia, Italy, the Maldives, Montenegro and Thailand.
