Heathrow network bolstered by nine new winter routes

Heathrow’s winter schedule sees nine routes added from Sunday.

Tromso in northern Norway is being introduced by both British Airways and SAS with the Scandinavian carrier also adding the ski resort of Salen.

BA will also be serving Jeddah from November 2.

Air Canada is adding a connection to Delhi while Air India will introduce flights to Bengaluru.

A new service to Orlando is being introduced by Delta Air Lines, while three points in China – Xi’an, Chongqing and Tianjin – will be served by Tianjin Airlines.

Airport chief customer officer Ross Baker said: “Heathrow is already the most connected airport in the world which is a huge advantage for the UK, but we’re always on the lookout to expand our global connections.

“We are proud to offer new connections and to give passengers and British businesses even more opportunities to explore new corners of the world from Heathrow.”

Meanwhile, Ryanair is boosting Christmas capacity with 1.5 million additional seats over 940 routes across its network, identifying London, Paris and Barcelona as the most popular destinations.
