Uncover The World Travel, parent of Encounters Travel and Oasis Overland, has appointed its marketing director as managing director.
Danniell Saunders (pictured left) is now managing director, taking over the reins from Ralph Foulds (right), who moves to the role of finance and operations director.
The company said Saunders brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his new role.
“With a proven track record of driving growth and innovation, Saunders is well-equipped to lead Uncover The World Travel into its next chapter,” it said in a statement.
Saunders commented: “I am thrilled to take on this new challenge and build upon the solid foundation laid by Ralph.
“Our mission has always been to provide unforgettable travel experiences, and I look forward to working closely with our dedicated team to continue delivering on that promise.
“We are committed to enhancing our offerings and expanding our reach to more adventure seekers around the globe.”

The statement said Foulds has “adeptly steered the company through various phases of growth and development” and he will now focus on “optimising the company’s financial health and operational efficiency”.
Foulds added: “This transition is a positive step for our company. As finance and operations director, I will concentrate on ensuring our operations are as efficient and sustainable as possible, allowing us to continue offering exceptional travel experiences.”
Saunders is based in Toronto, Canada, while Foulds is based in the UK where the company has a team of six. As well as Foulds, the company is represented at travel events in the UK by Penny Hooper or Fern Montgomery from Samphire Travel Consulting.
Encounters Travel is known for its culturally immersive tours, while Oasis Overland offers “epic” overland journeys that take travellers off the beaten path.
Sister brands Oasis Overland and Encounters Travel joined the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) in March to connect with UK agents to boost sales.
Oasis Overland was purchased by Uncover the World Travel in April 2021.
